Seller's Description:
Very good. A handsome Pocket Poets inspired cover design to this classic of nonviolent resistance, issued by the publishing arm of the 1970s and '80s activist powerhouse, the Movement for a New Society (MNS). Quaker-raised and influenced by Gandhi, Deming formed a couple with writer/artist Mary Meigs, and the two were at the center of a Cape Cod art circle that included Mark Rothko, Edmund Wilson, Mary McCarthy, and Québécois writer Marie-Claire Blais, who ended up becoming romantically involved with the pair and living with them for six years. Saddle-stitched binding remains sound. Clean, unmarked interior. Some subtle toning and light edge-wear, but nice solid copy overall. 32 pp. Featured Rare & Collectible.
