There are 2 volumes of Twenty-Two Splendid Tales to Tell from Around the World & both give an excellent assortment of international folktales. Pleasant DeSpain has taken the stories & condensed them down to the essential information while retaining the flavor of the stories. They're great for short telling or reading. They also give the storyteller the opportunity to use them as the "bones" in constructing their own version of a story. The only problem with these 2 volumes is they are out of print & instead are now being reprinted in several volumes containing only a few stories per book. These 2 anthologies are a much better value than the smaller books currently being published.
