We omit the formulas and equations found in other books, and we instead focus on explaining the intuition and logic of common empirical methods. We also exclusively use examples that are relevant to law school and legal practice. By making the book accessible in this way, we hope to help counteract the aversion towards empirical evidence that is far too common in law schools, law firms, and the courts"--
