Since I haven't hunted in 30 years, I thought I would refresh my memory on game tracking. Since this book got such good reviews on Amazon, I thought this would be a good place to start. My mistake. This book is written for naturalist and not for hunters. I think he really goes over the edge on page 102, when he suggests wearing nothing but a "loincloth or shorts and a snug top" and no shoes when stalking. In my backyard maybe, but not in the California wilderness.
Of the several books I bought on tracking, the best was "The SAS Guide to Tracking" by Bob Carss.
Another EXCELLENT book that everyone who goes beyond their driveway should have is "The SAS Survival Guide" by John Wiseman. This book measures 3.25" x 4.75" and contains over 380 pages and covers everything from First Aid, building shelter, making fires, trapping and survival.. This book is a "must" carry.
