This is a good book that stresses the importance of your own personal relationship with God, even if your spouse does or doesn't support your journey. Short and sweet read. I can see how it could be a little difficult read for someone as it has large vocabulary.

Separate Spiritual Journeys
As I read this book I reflected on so many friends and acquaintances who sit alone at church embracing their faith but finding themselves without their loved ones who choose not to be a part of that journey. The author, a devout Roman Catholic, has a writing style and message which is engaging and especially relevant for those spouses who find themselves reassessing life's priorities following many years of marriage. This new awakening may lead to a spiritual journey which does not fully include a person's husband or wife. The author effectively expresses that this separate journey does not necessarily lead to a choice between love of God and love of one's spouse. Rather, one can live out a chosen spiritual journey while also respecting the life journey of his/her spouse. The author provides insight and strategies into one's spiritual journey while also showing a deep love and commitment to her marriage. Furthermore, the author provides a very special message of love and commitment to both one's spouse and one's Catholic faith without having to make a choice of one over the other. It is a book I have shared within our parish's male spirituality and returning Catholics programs and has been praised by several who have read it. It is a must read for those who find themselves in similar journeys.
