I was not really happy when I found out that Jeff Shaara had decided to write about Pearl Harbor, thought it had been done to death. However, I decided to read it, one, because Jeff has really gotten good over the last 20 years, and two, I did want to see if he had any new insights in the attack. Well, I was surprised. I did learn a few new pieces of history, and it was really well written, and moved really fast. Definitely want to read 'The Eagle's Claw' in the future. I would first suggest watching 'Tora, Tora, Tora,' and the History Buff video(on YouTube) so you can get faces to the characters, and you'll have a better understanding of the book. At least that's the way I felt.
