This book makes you feel like you're right there experiencing everything with Violet. Her stories are great, and bring you back to the time she lived in. She expresses herself very well.

What luck!
Fascinating story of luck and survival. Edited by the great author of classic books on ocean liners. A great footnote to history.

While reading the beginning, one may feel that they really don't care about her childhood, and let's get on to the Titanic stuff. Keep Reading. I thought this at first also, but as I kept reading I became very interested. Her life was extraordinary. I think they titled the book like they did to get people to read it, but there is so much more than her Titanic experiences. Her discription of the Britannic sinking is very good. The commentator could have written less and less of his own opinions, and let Violet tell her story!
