Time for Marimba is only her third album in 10 years, and it is actually a reissue of her first album on Cala, Dream of the Cherry Blossoms, made in 1995. On Time for Marimba, Ganeva gets to demonstrate her chops on some Japanese marimba literature that's drawn from a mixture of mainstream pieces and works that are less familiar. Much of this music is strongly associated with Japanese marimba legend Keiko Abe, so Ganeva would have to play them very well just to keep pace.
