Signed by author on front end sheet along with gift inscription from Dr. Frank Joseph Sladen to his son, Frank J. Sladen, Jr. Pages are clean and pristine. Provenance of the Frank Joseph Sladen family. Also laid-in is a publisher's note about the book and offering of signed copies. According to Henry Ford Health: "After his death, the Henry Ford Hospital library was renamed the Dr. Frank J. Sladen Medical Library. Dr. Sladen was a prolific antiquarian book collector, a library committee member of the Wayne County Medical Society and was responsible for the 1915 founding of the Henry Ford Hospital library.
