In its original LP incarnation circa 1983, Kent's Time Is on My Side was a solid 16-track compilation of Irma Thomas material from the mid-'60s, most of it duplicated by the more extensive CDs on EMI and Razor & Tie. By the time of its CD release in 1996, however, it boasted more tracks than both of them, with seven songs not appearing on either of the other collections.
