this must be one of our favorite Polacco books. The artwork is excellent, with wonderful facial expressions. nice ties to Grandmother and little girl overcomes fear of thunder, but told so well that it doesn't seem as though story is teaching anything.

Outstanding!
I love this book! It's a delightful tale of a young girl who fears thunder (and many other things!). Children can easily reate to the topic.
As a teacher, I read this many times to my kiddos. We use it when we study several things: weather, writing from personal experiences, courage, and the author, herself.
