Aly Khan, his son by his second wife, was a soldier, diplomat, businessman, playboy, amateur jockey and a fine judge of horseflesh. His second wife was the Hollywood "love goddess" Rita Hayworth, and he had legendary affairs with a string of well-known actresses. Passed over as Aga Khan in favour of Karim, his son by his first wife, Aly Khan was killed in a car crash three years later in 1960. Karim, the current Aga Khan 4, is a Harvard trained tycoon.
