The beginning of a great series
Recommended by a friend, the series has since become one of my keeper collections (of which I have only a few). The stories revolve around a British archeological family living around the turn of the 20th century. Their expertise is Egyptology, which I was never really interested in before. Other points of interest: feminism, old fashioned romance, murder mysteries, dramatic action, social commentary and historical references, to name a few. Perhaps more of a female read, particularly since it is presented mainly as Amelia's journals.
