This rather brief selection of dub mixes seems rather hastily tossed together, and while there is one undisputed masterpiece here, Augustus Pablo's "King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown," and a couple of other interesting tracks, including "Dub Belly" from Scientist and one of Lee "Scratch" Perry's heavier-sounding early dub mixes, "Dubbing in the Backseat," most of what is here is on the arbitrary and perfunctory side of things. While it might be fine as an introduction to this Jamaican subgenre for someone who had never heard of it before, this compilation is really too short and sketchy to be even a cursory history of dub.
