Excerpt from Things New and Old, or a Storehouse of Similes, Sentences, Allegories, Apophthegms, Adages, Apologues, Divine, Moral, Political, Etc., With Their Several Applications, Vol. 1 of 2 There is a story, how that one ofi'ered to give his horse to his fellow, upon condition he would but say the Lord's Prayer, and thmk upon nothing but God.
