Heyer is in her prime. A classic British manor house mystery with some interesting touches. The mystery is very fair. The character of the adolescent is drawn with depth and feeling (and humor), which I find unusual in classic British mystery. The love angle is a bit anemic for Heyer, but the complexity of the plot more than compensates. The character of the second victim's wife is exceedingly entertaining.
Experienced mystery readers should find this one very rewarding.
