For example, brief forms of psychodynamic theory are covered extensively. The authors have extensive clinical experience, which they have used enliven the text and provide understandable examples of each theory. A discussion of multicultural issues is infused throughout the book and students are encouraged to consider cultural issues in many of the examples of each theory. A unique chapter on psychopharmacology covers the "biochemical" approach to treatment, with particular emphasis how counselors handle client medications and interactions with the physicians and othe presscribers. Thought-provoking questions and learning activities are provided for each chapter, and a companion web site includes important aids, such as available videotapes and relevant web sites. Additionally, set of two Video Role Play DVDs is packaged in the back of every new copy of this text.
