Seller's Description:
None. Fine in Very Good jacket. A humorous work by seasoned author, Basil Boothroyd. This work is observational humour on the 'cruel pressures of modern existence, laughter can defeat life on all fronts...' Formed from a selection of articles written for 'Punch' magazine, these tales are about those 'elements of life which madden, humiliate and deject. ' The first edition, held in original dustwrapper. Boothroyd wrote many articles for 'Punch' starting at a young age. He eventually became assistant editor and served in that post for eighteen years. In original publisher's binding and held in original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, excellent with very little shelfwear to the extremities. Dustwrapper is very smart with minor chipping to the head. Rubbing to the head of the front and rear joints as well as to the extremities. A few light spots to the externals of wrap, heavier internally. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with just the occasional, light spots. Fine.
