I was very impressed by the book.
The plot moves well. Her characters are well defined and not just sterotypes.
She addresses ideas about issues that I have not seen tackled in most books written in this era.
I have heard that the movie broke barriers in the way Hollywood dealt with the rise of Hitler. The book does so much more and does it well.

Insightful and chilling
Since we now know what happened after the Nazi's gained power, it is interesting to see what the actual people went through at the beginning of the purge of the Jews. Hearing about the changes that took place takes you there at the time. A must read.
