Very Good. No Jacket. 8vo-over 7¾"-9¾" tall. Irish poet, novelist, and newspaper columnist John (Desmond) Sheridan (1903-1980) generally wrote in a humorous vein. This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition. Brown cloth binding; ruled, and with blindstamped decoration on the front cover; gilt titling on the spine. Clean text; 285 pages. Previous-owner inscription (1949) on the FFEP. There is offset tanning to pages 280-81 where perhaps a newspaper clipping had been laid-in. Front and rear covers have some bubbling. Still, a solid and not unattractive copy. No dustwrapper.
