Seller's Description:
Very good, fair to good. 384, illus., bibliographical notes, chronology, appendix, index, rear DJ somewhat soiled, DJ edges worn & scuffed: small tears. History of the development of the submarine throughout the world, from the launching of the first U-1 by Germany in 1906, through 1967.
After reading three of Stafford's other books, The Big E, Little Ship, Big War, and Subchaser, I was ready for another great book that would tell the story of submarine service. I was somewhat disappointed, it is just another of the many bland history books that tell the stories of submarines from the earliest to the latest (1960's).
