Corners bumped with a bit of cardboard exposed there, moderate shelf scuffing, approximately 1/4 inch chipping off head and foot of spine, two 1 inch tears along rear joint. Internally, previous owner's signature, 1 1/2 inch piece torn off lower corner of first free front endpaper, approximately 1/4 to 1 inch wide light tan stain (smells like perfume) along lower portion of gutters and edges of text, rear hinge cracked, otherwise tight, clean, paper crisp, unmarked. Historical overview of the locomotives used, then modern ones, and biographical sketches of some of the mover and shakers of the B&O. Railway; railroad; trains; history; Americana; industrial archaeology.
