Color Frontispiece. Good. 9" Tall By 4 1/4" Wide. Textblock is complete (prefatory matter + 100 pages) and clean; binding cracked between page 10 and 11, but the pages are safely sewn in and are not coming loose; front hinge secure; rear hinge split just before rear flyleaf--rear endpapers are intact, but the wraps are beginning to separate from the pageblock at this split; previous owner writing on half-title page. Stiff wraps have considerable edgewear, but the front embossed illustration with author/title look quite good. Top corner of paper/wraps bends upward.

Otherwise pages are clean and binding is tight. Stored in its original box, the lid of which is a replica of the book's cover; edges of the box and lid are torn, and the lid is dampstained. A short novel set in the Old West around Christmas. Includes a color frontis and drawings at the beginning of each section by J. Allen St. John. He was the illustrator for the Tarzan books and other fantasy novels.
