This is a great book for teaching Native American History to elementary students. The stories are engaging and the illustrations are interesting. Similar to Pagoo, by the same author, this book allows for nearly effortless learning through fiction. Great read-aloud.
(Note: some reviewers have noted certain terms which might be offensive to our present-day Native Americans, however my husband is half Navajo and found the book enchanting)
