Then something happens in their life that causes them to quit and fall away from God and their calling. They become bitter, rejected, and ashamed. Those whom they felt they could trust and lean on have deserted them. They go down a spiraling pit of separation from those who truly care for them and begin to fall into the things of the world. They feel as if no one understands them and no one cares for them. Suddenly, they realize that the only hope and peace they ever had in their life was with Christ. How can I come back to God? What can I do now since I have messed my life up completely? This is what happens to a wounded warrior with the scars from the battle of life. But there is hope in getting back to God, and not just a hope in getting back but being used of God again. Jesus told Peter even before he betrayed Him, "When you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren" (Luke 22:32 NKJV). The Wounded Warrior is about bringing that broken Christian warrior back into the fellowship of the church and helping them get back into serving the Lord with joy, fulfilling the calling that God has placed on their life.
