Reginald Hill was a wonderful writer. I think that this novel ranks up with the best. The plot and pacing are top notch. I will try to read his vast output aoon.

Woodcutter
I am now on page 375 - it took me some 200 pages to figure it out and really get interested.
But as always the pieces are coming together and is proving interesting. There are a lot of characters in the novel and if I put it down for a day I may forget who is who, Characterization and prose make the book worth while.
