Dan gotlieb helps us recall our in-born widom
Dan Gottlieb got me hooked. His book grabs you from the start and won't let you go until you finish it and want to read it again!
Yes, I read it twice, having only done that once in my life after reading a book entitled "Interiors" by someone that the Cahtolic Church elevated to sainthood, Teresa of Avila.
I'd like to nominate this Jewish psychologist for an honorific title. If not granting him sainthood for writing such a book, at least make him into a Buddhist bodhisattva.
You'll recognize a lot of yourself in this book. After all, it tells of the wisdom that each and everyone of us were born with. An interesting part deals with an old Jewish story Dan tells about a angel who visits us when we were newborns.
The angel smiles at us and places the index finger on the part of our face just above our upper lip. She taps us, causing two things to happen by magic all at once.
The first thing is that we get an indentation above the lips. That's where we got that small dimple-like thing just where men grow their mustaches. The indentation is that part of the face where I believe i always look right before kissing someone of the opposite sex. (OK, make it whatever sex you want it to be; there's nothing wrong with it!)
The second thing is that the angel knocks us out. Well, the angel makes us forget everything that we knew from a previous life, along with all the wisdom we accumulated from our past lives.
It is through reflection, prayer and meditation that we can regain some of the this wisdom of which we forgot we had to begin with.
You got that?
Now, go out and get the book. This is your guardian angel speaking . . .
