Don Nelson had an appealing voice, but he takes these dozen selections (mostly veteran standards) pretty straight, sticking to simple interpretations of the melodies. He plays a couple of the themes on recorder and the trio (pianist Jimmy Rowles, bassist Leroy Vinnegar and drummer Stan Levey) is fine in support, but this set is only of limited interest from the jazz standpoint.
