Wm. B. Seabrook fan writes:
Call me prejudiced but I love everything that William has written. This book is no exception. The first book that I read was Magic Island and since then, about a year ago, I have acquired almost everything that he has written that is still available. I just finished reading Asylum, a first-person account of alcohol rehab before addiction recovery clinics, so popular since Betty Ford, were in existence.
Everything he writes is a must read. The only drawback are the footnotes which require the reader to go to the back of the book to read his further insights into the subject matter and they are sometimes so lengthy that I've lost track of where I was in the book and have to reread the material that preceded the footnote to get back on track. I mostly ignore the footnotes now.
