This book contains succinct one page descriptions and illustrations explaining how everything from an electron microscope to a bathroom mirror works. This is the kind of book I would want to have if I found myself stranded on a deserted island with parts of the airplane or ship I can in on. I enjoyed this book in much the same way I enjoy reading the Uncle John?s Bathroom Readers. Of course this book is much more technical than a book from Uncle John, but where else are you going to learn about the differences between fountain pen and ballpoint pen production? This book is an excellent and useful reference with a comprehensive table of contents and index.
