They cooperatively raised a child, mentored a troubled adolescent, spoke out for social justice, fell in and out of love, and ended up in hilarious jams. Throughout it all, voodoo priestess Hettie Ardoin worked her magic to solve her friends' problems and smooth their lives. Yes, they would've succeeded without each other. But when it was all said and done, the Gash House women agreed their lives were richer because they'd supported and cared about each other.
