The Voice of Opera is decidedly not for specialist tastes -- die-hard opera "philistines" will not only have what they would want here, they will deliberately not have the selections they wouldn't want. The repertoire scope of the two-disc set is generous, extensive, and yet superficial. Nonetheless, for someone who has little or no grounding in opera, this package will prove valuable as a means of introduction, and it may well prove ideal for...
