Take a trip back to the time when vampires were considered something truly worth fearing in this documentary that asks whether the inspiration for one of the greatest monsters in history was not Romanian prince Vlad Tepes, but a Bohemian princess from the early 18th Century. Once upon a time, in the small village of Czech Krumlov, there lived a beautiful princess whose allergy to light left her unable to venture outdoors during the day. When night fell, she would emerge from her foreboding castle to wander the countryside. The locals believed her to be a vampire, and as a result she was buried in accordance with local vampire rituals: her head was severed and placed in the coffin between her legs, and her thorax impaled with what appeared to be a wooden stake. Two-and-a-half centuries later, archeologists unearth the princess' corpse in a bid to discover whether it was she, not Tepes, who inspired some of the most frightening tales ever to be passed down through generations.
