this book was full of so many southern customs and memories. It almost felt like growing up in the south again. I really enjoyed it. I love all of Terrys books. I think anyone who grew up in the south will love them.

A Real Gem
The Valley of Light was the 129th presentation of the Hallmark Hall of Fame on CBS in February. Immediately I bought and read the book. It is a really nice book about a World War II veteran that comes to a small valley in North Carolina. In the book he as been wondering the country for three years making a living off his fishing. In the movie it is only a year. When he offers to do some work for the grocer he stays on for a while and gets involved with the people in the town. The movie and the book have different endings which are both suitable as far as I am concerned. When Noah places his hand in the water before he fishes he is doing a type of noodling a procedure that the author's own son uses to catch catfish. A romance develops between him and a widow and in the book there is a mystery to solve. I highly recommend the video and book.
