Ownership name of Susan Almira Neefus of the Rutgers Female Institute in New York dated in 1845, repeated several times and with pencil notations on some pages, some wear at the crown, bottom corners bumped, cloth stained, some creasing and wear at the folding plate, near very good. Neefus appears in the 1845 catalogue of the school. She was later married to Samuel R. Platt, a prominent New York businessman.
