Her 1923 book The End of the House of Alard became a best-seller, and gave her prominence; it was followed by other successes and her books enjoyed worldwide sales. Good. No Jacket. 316pp The author's father was Rector of Brede. These are his stories. Very slight wear to cover corners, blue covers with gilt lettering, light foxing to endpapers. In a hard cover folder, which in turn is in a slip cover which is half leather with five bands on the spine and gilt lettering. Some sunning to slipcase and some spotting to the leather.
