I Love This Book!
Originally, I checked this book out of the public library. I loved it so much, I searched for my own copy. If you're interested in developing a complete picture of this era in history, then you must read this book.
Ian Mortimer writes in an engaging, easy to understand style. He describes all the small details of life in the Fourteenth Century, without putting the reader into a coma. So many people seem to hate history, primarily because they believe it's boring. Mortimer makes his readers feel as though they've truly traveled through a wormhole to the past. From clothing and food, to education and culture, "Time Traveler's Guide to Medieval England" covers every aspect of this crucial era.
Yes, the price of this book can be a bit daunting, but that's due to the lovely color plates of medieval art scattered throughout. Trust me, you're getting your money's worth with this book! I'd recommend it to anyone interested in learning about the lifestyles of our medieval ancestors.
