Topics such as teacher attitude, causes of disruptions, specific techniques, and real life examples of how to prevent and handle disruptive behavior will be covered. This book will help both the beginning and the seasoned teacher in managing disruptive behavior in the classroom. Very few teachers are educated on specific techniques of how to handle student disruptions in the classroom. Even circumstances such as students carrying weapons are not included in teacher training. At present, a teacher's only resource is learning through experience. Being a masters level special education teacher for several years, she has taught all levels of disabilities, behaviors, and ages using these behavioral management techniques. These techniques work. Martha Ainsworth is a certified teacher with a masters level degree in Special Education. She received her Masters degree in special education from the University of Southern Mississippi and her Bachelor of Science degree in home economics with a vocational endorsement from Mississippi University for Women. She has been a special education teacher, a substitute teacher, and a volunteer teacher for several years. Due to teaching all levels of students with intellectual disabilities, multiple handicaps, behaviors, ages, and social economic classes, she has acquired behavior techniques that work in the classroom.
