Very Good. Hardcover in red boards with picture of tank printed on front in black. No dust jacket. 8vo. First printing of first edition (1919). Boards are gently faded, with some mottling to spine. Binding is tight, pages are clean, one corner is lightly bumped. Newspaper clipping from 1923 has discolored two facing pages. Tipped on to the front free endpage is two-page booklet from the Hindenburg Line Exhibit: the front page reads An Appeal, From Flander's Field with America's Answer. Inside are the poems of the same name, the first by John McCrae, the second by R. W. Lillard. Former owner's name, a corporal in the Tank Corps, is written on the same page in graceful steel-pen writing and dated 1918. Illustrated, but lacking the map at rear. 421 pp. Heavy--may require additional postage if shipped abroad.
