Human to Human: in wrath and at peace we are One
This short book is one of my favorite readings in exploring non-violent (a.k.a. compassionate) communcation with - and understanding of - others and myself. As with all of Dr Rosenber's writings, it has more than one level of reading. It is both a message about humanity, and a display of applying humanity's essential qualities in black-on-white. Indeed, there's no anger in the book itself, or rather, there's no room for negative emotions to rise. It is passionate but kind, simple but not easy, direct but touching, frank yet polite, forceful but no forcing. Reading it has a subtle or subliminal effect: here is a man moved by his heart's will to join others - to serve communion. A simple message: 'human-to-human, I know how you feel; and I know why; we are the same - no matter how apart'. A simple truth. For me. For one. For all.
