I apologize for the headline -- "Philosophy in a can" isn't intended to flame Will Durant in any way. He is an epochal writer and, I believe, tackled this monumental topic incredibly well.
Saying that, the book gives the reader an extraordinary panorama of deep, abstract thought that is guaranteed to instruct and push one off the shore and into deep waters where wonderment and serendipity lie in wait.
All I can say is "try it, you'll like it" and if you're like me, you'll wonder why you had to wait til you were an old fart to discover this jewel.
Enjoy.

Bought for my Father...
I bought this book as a replacement for my fater... He's had an old dog-eared paper-back copy for years... and I do mean years... He finally asked me to track down a hard covered version... But, if you like philosophy, this is my Father's favorite book...
