Today it is the special visual centerpiece of a worldwide devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus. The author cites what Jesus himself told many saintly people such as St Gertrude, and the "Little Flower" about the power of his image and reminds readers of the many passages in the Bible that direct believers "To seek the Face of God". He maintains that a visual image of Jesus and His "presence" are intricately linked together. When we seek the face of Jesus, the Son of God, we know he will be gracious to us and give us peace. What is more, the image of his holy face serves as a great protection against evil. It is hard to give into temptation when the face of Jesus is in your thoughts, imagination, physical sight or resting against your heart on a necklace or on a bracelet.
