"I'll be on hand then," and this was all Ann knew of the matter. Mrs. Rutledge had gone over early that morning to assist Aunt Sallie Green--getting ready for such an important social function as a quilting-bee was no small matter. First, there was the quilt to put in the frames and the thread and chalk and strings to have handy, and then there was the dinner, which took several days to prepare.
