Very Good. No Jacket. 16mo-over 5¾"-6¾" tall. Michael Joseph Barry ( 1817-1889) was a poet and a Young Irelander who later in life recanted the opinions of his youth. This is a Very Good copy of the Second Edition. Dark green cloth binding, blindstamped with ruling and a gilt Irish harp within a wreath on the front cover. The First Edition was 1845; there is no publication date, but a" Preface to the Second Edition"included is dated 1846. The text is clean, with the exception of some tic-marks to the list of titles; 252 pages. The previous owner has signed it on both the front and rear endpapers; the rear endpaper contains a pencil sketch of two heads and a woman whose garb suggests the Victorian era. A cute little volume, and quite scarce.
