Seller's Description:
Good in Fair jacket. Book club edition; and a good reading copy. The Sojourner is the story of a good man: of the influence of his steady, quiet strength upon others, especially the members of his immediate family, and of what they--characters less strong and less stable--do to him throughout the course of a long life. The author's last novel, which has been considered one of the finest novels of the 20th Century.

This book now apparently out of print is wonderful. I got it as a gift from a friend then sent it to a friend and shared it with a daughter. Of course the author wrote many famous Florida books this one was multi generational about farming as it started to the mid west. The girlfriend I sent ti to moved from the city to an Ohio Farm and I know her daughters in law will be reading it along with her sons and grandchildren. The author already famous and gone the writing was excellent. Historical content true to form. Sad that some really great or good books are no longer printed. Thanks Albris for being a great source for this type of thing.
