I was walking through a bookstore one day looking for something new to read and, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a small soft cover copy of ?The Simoqin Prophecies? aggressively crammed between two enormous hard covers. I liberated it form it?s oppressors, read the first chapter and was instantly hooked. Samit Basu is able to blend fantasy, popular culture, and humor into a remarkable book; and I felt his writing style allowed the book playfully flow from chapter to chapter.
Not until I finished the last chapter did I realize it was only the first part of a three part series and instantly scoured the Internet to find part two, ?The Manticore?s Secret?.
I highly recommend this book and can honestly say it has become one of my favorite books of all time.
