The Sherman Brothers is a tribute to their songbook, compiling over two dozen original recordings from Disney films and events, mostly from the 1960s. Some of the songs, such as "Chim Chim Cher-ee" and "Fortuosity," became pop hits in the hands of non-Disney artists, while others were hits in the versions that appear here (Annette Funicello's "Tall Paul"; Hayley Mills' "Let's Get Together.") Most of these recordings also appear on the box set The Music of Disney: A Legacy in Song, but The Sherman Brothers adds a few exclusive, minor items for collectors: there's a snippet of studio chatter from the "Tall Paul" session, and an even shorter snippet of the brothers singing "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" followed by an utterance by Walt Disney himself. The package is so single-minded in its focus on the Shermans that none of the vocalists are identified, which is a major oversight considering that most of them are quite famous.
