In the Beginning...
The role of John Brown and his six financial supporters, all of whom were New England abolitionists, in beginning the War of Rebellion is scantly known today. Even fewer people are aware that none of this group were even vaguely concerned for the welfare of blacks, they simply were adamantly against slavery and equality of man had no role in their works. Harpers Ferry was to be the site of a great slave uprising, but no blacks participated and this event quickly closed with Robert E. Lee and JEB Stuart beginning their Army of Virginia careers.
This is a wonderful read that will correctly inform the ignorant of Brown's role in history and is highly recommended for everyone who has yet to receive an education in American history.
