A superb first edition of this volume in Lerner's "In America" series for young adults--and this copy from the library of Senator Adlai E. Stevenson III (born 1930), whose father, Governor Adlai E. Stevenson II (1900-65), is pictured on the front cover and is among those with thumbnail biographies in the "Statesmen of the 20th Century" section.
This is a good youth introduction into the contributions of the Scots to America and its culture. History is basically correct but not in depth or nuanced but lots of photos.
