Yet Another Masterpiece
Yet another masterpiece by Richard Stark (aka Donald E. Westlake). The fifth book in the hard-boiled Parker series is unique in that Parker violates his own rules in leading a whole gang of theives on an amateur's dream of looting an entire town. The planning, set up, and initial execution all go smoothly until everything goes horribly wrong in ways no one could have imagined. This is an excellent entry in the series and my personal favorite. This a great book for an established fan or for anyone who loves a great book with plenty of action.
